College basketball preview: USF vs. DePaul

. Today

USF vs. DePaul

When/where: 2; Sun Dome, Tampa

TV/radio: BHSN; 98.7-FM

Records: USF 10-17, 1-14 Big East; DePaul 11-16, 2-12

Notable: USF will honor its seniors today rather than Wednesday against UConn, citing easier logistics in getting family in town on the weekend vs. a 9 p.m. weeknight tipoff. King's Toarlyn Fitzpatrick and guard Jawanza Poland will be honored with two walk-ons, but guard Shaun Noriega, expected back on a medical redshirt, won't be. … These teams are last in the league in scoring margin and rebounding margin. … DePaul has allowed 81.7 points per Big East game, 12 more than any other team, and has the league's worst 3-point defense (40.7 percent).

TORONTO — Two pitches RHP Chris Archer didn't execute are the ones that stood out Thursday as Josh Donaldson hit them out of the park. But the two solo home runs aside, Archer turned in a sterling outing that went atop the pile of good pitching the Rays keep wasting.
