FSU Seminoles to play in NIT

Florida State to play in NIT

After a school-record four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, Florida State will play in this season's NIT.

The Seminoles (18-15, 9-9 ACC) are a No. 4 seed for the 32-team tournament and host Louisiana Tech at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday (full schedule, 3X). The Bulldogs (26-6, 16-2) won the WAC regular season but lost in the first round of the conference tournament.

The winner faces Southern Miss or Charleston Southern on a date to be determined.

"This is a very important opportunity for our basketball team to continue to play and continue to gain experience," Seminoles coach Leonard Hamilton said. "Our players are excited. Our staff is excited, and we hope our fans can get excited."
