South Florida basketball vs. Florida Atlantic preview

. tonight

Men's basketball: USF at FAU

When/where: 8; FAU Arena, Boca Raton

Radio: 1250-AM

Records: USF 5-3; Florida Atlantic 4-4

Notable: USF is coming off a strong win against VCU, and a win tonight would be its third in a row. The Owls, coached by Mike Jarvis, won at Mississippi State and lost by 13 to Florida. The Bulls rank last in the Big East in scoring, averaging 65.1 points per game, and they're also last in turnover margin and assist/turnover ratio. They played three games without starting PG Anthony Crater, who returned against VCU and played well. Junior F Augustus Gilchrist (11.4 ppg) is the Bulls' leading scorer; sophomore Jawanza Poland is averaging 11.1. The three teams USF has lost to — Southern Miss, Central Florida and BYU — are a combined 18-0.
