South Florida vs. Louisville at a glance

.TOnight

USF vs. No. 23 Louisville

When/where: 7; Sun Dome, Tampa

TV/radio: ESPN2; 1250-AM

Records: Louisville 9-3, 0-0; USF 5-8, 0-1

Notable: Louisville dominates the all-time series, leading 21-3. The Cardinals present two challenges — avoiding turnovers against a harassing fullcourt press and contending with an athletic frontcourt. Rick Pitino's scoring has come from his frontcourt, led by 6-foot-8 freshman Samardo Samuels, who averages a team-best 13.8 points and 6.5 rebounds. The Bulls need strong perimeter shooting from leading scorer Dominique Jones (17.1 ppg) and senior G Jesus Verdejo (15.5), who missed all of his 3s in Friday's loss to Syracuse. … A plane carrying the Cardinals returned to the Louisville airport Tuesday after the pilots got a false fire warning about 10 minutes into the flight. A second flight arrived in Tampa shortly after 11 p.m.
