USF-Connecticut preview

. Tonight

USF at No. 24 Connecticut

When/where: 7, XL Center, Hartford, Conn.

TV/radio: ESPN2, 98.7-FM, 1010-AM

Records: USF 12-12, 3-8 American Athletic Conference; UConn 18-5, 6-4

Notable: After Saturday's 10-point home loss to Rutgers, the Bulls desperately need a road win against a ranked foe to recharge their NIT hopes. UConn has won the past two home meetings, both in overtime. Huskies senior G Shabazz Napier (17.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 5.6 assists) is a conference player of the year candidate. USF has outscored its opponent in the paint each of the past four games.
