USF-Memphis preview

USF at No. 23 Memphis

When/where: 2; FedEx Forum, Memphis

TV/radio: CBS Sports Network; 98.7-FM

Records: USF 10-9, 1-5 American Athletic; Memphis 14-4, 4-2

Notable: As fan grumbling mounts, coach Stan Heath must get his team refocused after its 39-point home loss Wednesday to No. 12 Louisville. The Bulls fell to Memphis 88-73 in Tampa on New Year's Eve, but Heath said he's hopeful a familiarity with the Tigers will help in the rematch. … The Tigers are ninth in the AAC in 3-point efficiency (ahead of only USF) but hit eight 3s in the teams' first meeting. … USF, facing its third consecutive ranked foe, likely will play before its largest crowd of the year. Memphis' average home attendance is nearly 16,000.
