Men's college basketball preview: USF at St. John's

USF at St. John's

When/where: 7; Carnesecca Arena, Queens, N.Y.

TV/radio: BHSN (tape delay, 10 p.m.); 98.7-FM

Records: USF 10-15, 1-12 Big East; St. John's 15-10, 7-6

Notable: The Bulls are trying to end an eight-game losing streak, and the Red Storm has had close calls at home, needing overtime to outlast DePaul (2-10 in Big East) and beating Seton Hall (2-11) by just four. … St. John's is ridiculously young; all 10 players who have scored this season are freshmen or sophomores, led by 6-3 guard D'Angelo Harrison (15.8 ppg in Big East) and 6-8 forward JaKarr Sampson (14.4). … 6-9 freshman forward/center Chris Obekpa leads the league with 3.2 blocks per game. … The Bulls won 64-49 in Tampa last season, getting a 24-point second half from Victor Rudd.
