USF-Rutgers preview

USF vs. Rutgers

When/where: 8, Sun Dome

TV/radio: ESPNews; 98.7-FM

Records: USF 12-11, 3-7 American Athletic; Rutgers 9-14, 3-7

Notable: Tonight's winner positions itself for a first-round conference tournament bye. The Bulls, seeking their third win in four games, got a double double (25 points, 10 rebounds) from senior F Victor Rudd in Wednesday's 79-78 overtime win at UCF. Rudd, who contemplated not playing because of knee tendinitis, said he should be fine for tonight. Rutgers, coached by Scarlet Knights and NBA alumnus Eddie Jordan, has lost five of its past six but has converted the third-most 3-pointers (149) in the league. USF ranks last in the league in 3-point defense (37.4 percent).
