CINCINNATI — Troy Caupain had 18 points and a career-high 10 assists while Gary Clark added 16 points and 13 rebounds as Cincinnati used a strong second half to beat USF 88-57 Thursday night.

The Bearcats led 36-29 at halftime and made it 44-31 with 17:42 remaining. The lead swelled to 59-32 after Caupain made two free throws.

Cincinnati (17-6, 7-3 American Athletic Conference) committed just seven turnovers to 21 for USF (5-19, 2-9). Cincinnati shot 29-for-64 (45.3 percent).

Jahmal McMurray scored 17 for the Bulls and Bo Ziegler and Jaleel Cousins each had 10.

"We needed to keep fighting, and we just couldn't get anything really going," USF coach Orlando Antigua said of the second half. "Some of the decisions we made led to them turning some of the turnovers into quick transition points."

USF hosts SMU at 2 Sunday.

VANDY BEATS A RANKED TEAM: Jeff Roberson scored a career-high 20 to help host Vanderbilt upset No. 8 Texas A&M 77-60 for the Commodores' first win over a ranked team in four years.

Vanderbilt (13-9, 5-4 SEC) had lost 13 straight against ranked opponents, including six this season. The Commodores' last win over a ranked opponent was in 2012, against No. 1 Kentucky in the SEC tournament final.

"I'm very disappointed that (my players) have had to listen to and hear and probably unnecessarily read a lot of the negativity that's been said about us," Commodores coach Kevin Stallings said. "Maybe there were some clearing of minds and clearing of hearts this week.''

Texas A&M (18-4, 7-2) lost for the second time in three games.

Wisconsin 79, Ohio State 68: Nigel Hayes scored 21 and the host Badgers hit a season-high 13 3-pointers to win their fifth straight after nearly squandering a 12-point lead midway through the second half.

UCF 70, Tulane 62: Daiquan Walker made 11 of 16 shots, including six 3-pointers, for a career-high 33 points and the visiting Knights (11-9, 5-4 American Athletic Conference) ended a three-game losing streak. UCF led 38-28 at the half, when Walker had 20 points. Tulane got within one several times in the second half, but Walker made several big plays as he scored seven straight points inside the final six minutes.

Middle Tennessee 85, FAU 73: Reggie Upshaw had 19 points with eight rebounds in leading the Blue Raiders past the Owls (6-17, 4-6 C-USA). Ronald Delph scored a career-high 18 and had 10 rebounds for Florida Atlantic.

Providence: Forward Ben Bentil (right ankle) is day to day and will continue to be evaluated as the team prepares to host Villanova on Saturday.

Women

NO. 22 UF 83, NO. 12 TEXAS A&M 81: Ronni Williams had 20 points and 15 rebounds and the visiting Gators (19-4, 7-3 SEC) beat the Aggies (15-7, 5-4) for the first time. Texas A&M had a final chance, stealing the ball with seven seconds left, but Jordan Jones missed a shot at the buzzer. Courtney Walker had a career-high 31 points for the Aggies, who led 36-31 at halftime and pushed it to eight with 5:41 left in the third. But Williams, who surpassed 500 career rebounds, scored 11 as the Gators charged back to take a 65-60 lead.
