Women's college basketball preview: USF Bulls at Providence

USF women at Providence

When/where: 2; Alumni Hall, Providence, R.I.

Radio: 1010-AM

Records: USF 9-7, 0-2 Big East; Providence 7-7, 0-2

Notable: If the Bulls aspire to anything more than the Women's National Invitation Tournament, they need to start winning consistently. The Bulls, coming off a loss in the final seconds at home against Cincinnati, are 2-0 at Providence. G Andrea Smith leads USF with 16.3 points per game, and senior C Porche Grant leads the Big East with 10.6 rebounds per game, but rebounding might be what the Friars do best. … G Symone Roberts leads Providence with 11.7 ppg. … The Bulls will stay on the road, missing the first day of spring classes Monday, as they play Tuesday at DePaul before returning home to face Marquette on Jan. 16.
