Records: USF 22-10, 8-8 Big East; FGCU 26-4, 17-3 Atlantic Sun

Notable: USF expected to be in the NCAA Tournament but was passed over, while FGCU is ineligible for the NCAAs as it transitions to Division I. … The Eagles beat USF in Estero in last year's WNIT. This year, they advanced Thursday with a 97-94 double OT win against George Washington. … FGCU, which has won 17 straight, beat Florida to open the season but hasn't faced much competition at USF's level. … The Bulls will have a significant size advantage: FGCU has no players taller than 6 feet on its roster; USF has four players 6-2 and taller. … This is USF's fifth WNIT appearance in the past six years, but the Bulls have just two wins.
