ATLANTA — Kyle Korver and DeMarre Carroll each scored 20 as the Hawks bounced back from a rare loss by becoming the first NBA team to 50 wins, scoring a season high in beating the Kings 130-105 on Monday night.
Resting three starters, the East-leading Hawks (50-13) lost to the 76ers over the weekend to snap a six-game winning streak. Korver didn't make the trip to Philadelphia, the Hawks hoping the rest would help snap him out of a shooting slump since the All-Star break.
Korver made 6 of 8 3-pointers, and Atlanta finished 20-of-36 on 3-pointers — the most by any team in the league this season.
The Hawks led 76-54 at the break — their most prolific half of the season. They finished with 42 assists, best in the NBA this season. The Clippers had 41 assists against Brooklyn on Jan. 22.
The Hawks reached 50 wins for the first time since 2009-10, when they finished 53-29. Atlanta got No. 50 in its 63rd game, the quickest it has reached that milestone.
Rudy Gay scored 23 as the Kings lost their fourth in a row.
Game highlights: Marcin Gortat scored 20 and the Wizards rolled to a 95-69 victory over the Hornets to snap a nine-game road losing streak. Charlotte shot 32.5 percent (25-of-77) and committed 16 turnovers. … Anthony Davis scored 43, tying a career high and helping the Pelicans pull away for a 114-103 victory over the host Bucks. The Pelicans shot 59 percent and 60 percent from 3-point range.… Marc Gasol scored 23 to lead the visiting Grizzlies past his brother Pau Gasol and the Bulls 101-91. … Isaiah Thomas scored 25, Brandon Bass added 14 and the visiting Celtics beat the Heat 100-90.
Around the league: Bulls guard Derrick Rose believes he will be back this season after having right knee surgery on Feb. 27. "I feel good. I'm in a positive place right now," Rose said. … The NBA fined the Clippers' Dahntay Jones $10,000 for bumping Golden State's Draymond Green during a postgame interview Sunday.
