2A-11: AFA catches fire in second half
ST. PETERSBURG — At first, Northside Christian's slow-down game in the Class 2A-11 final looked like it might work. Facing the high-flying attack of Admiral Farragut, the Mustangs trailed just 15-7 at halftime.
But Farragut junior guard Mo Brown scored 17 of his game-high 21 points in the second half to help the Blue Jackets prevail.
"We picked up our defense and were able to get our transition game going," said Brown, who also had seven assists.
Farragut made crucial steals and fast-break points mid-way through the third, including Josh Burch's swipe and breakaway dunk that ignited the Blue Jackets. Mid-way through the fourth, Brown exploded for 10 consecutive points as the Blue Jackets went on a 10-2 run.
