Beal (34), Wizards win

WASHINGTON — Bradley Beal scored 34, Ramon Sessions added 18 and the Wizards rallied past the Suns 109-106 Friday night in a game that had a combined 46 turnovers.

Washington improved to 8-9 after losing five of its previous six.

Eric Bledsoe scored 22 and Brandon Knight had 19 for the Suns. They're 1-3 on a six-game trip.

The Wizards took a 104-103 lead on Otto Porter's three-point play with 1:42 to play. Beal hit a floater with 47.9 seconds to play for a 106-103 lead, Bledsoe made a layup with 15.9 left, and Beal added two free throws with 11.6 left for a 108-105 advantage.

Knight attempted a 3-pointer with 8.8 left, but Beal fouled him. Knight missed two of the three free throws and, after Garrett Temple made a free throw for Washingtony, Bledsoe missed a 3-pointer as time expired.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS: Carmelo Anthony scored 28, Kristaps Porzingis added 19 and the host Knicks beat the Nets 108-91. Porzingis finished with 10 rebounds for his 10th double double. The Knicks had a season-best 42 points in the first quarter, led 65-42 at halftime and opened their first lead of 30 or more since the 2013-14 season in the third period. Brooklyn next hosts the unbeaten Warriors on Sunday. … Andre Drummond had 17 points and 23 rebounds and the host Pistons beat the Bucks 102-95. KOBE RUMINATIONS: Lakers star Kobe Bryant talked about his toughest defenders, the best competitors he faced and his regrets about feuding with former teammate Shaquille O'Neal.
