MILWAUKEE — Chris Carter hit a 443-foot solo homer and a tiebreaking RBI double, breaking out of a 0-for-23 slump for the Brewers. Carter, who finished with three hits, doubled home the winner in the seventh. San Diego had the tying run on third in the eighth, but Matt Kemp flied out to end the threat. The Padres went 4-3 on their seven-game trip after winning two of three vs. the Cubs.
