ST. LOUIS — Matt Holliday broke an eighth-inning tie with a double and Adam Wainwright pitched eight innings as the Cardinals snapped the Phillies' season-high five-game winning streak. Holliday ripped a one-out double off Cole Hamels to bring in Matt Carpenter and make it 2-1. Hamels' scoreless streak of 242/3 innings was snapped on Matt Adams' second-inning sacrifice fly. Wainwright, pitching on 10 days' rest after missing a start with elbow tendinitis, helped St. Louis break a three-game skid.
