College football preview capsules: Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Bethune-Cookman, UCF, FAMU

Florida International at Troy, 1

QB Jake Medlock came back after missing two games with an injury and threw for a career-high 380 yards last week for the Panthers (1-6, 0-3 Sun Belt). Troy is 3-3, 2-2.

Florida Atlantic at S. Alabama, 3:30

It's the first meeting between the programs, but the Owls (1-5, 0-3 Sun Belt) have played more games in Alabama than any other state outside Florida. FAU is led by senior LB David Hinds, who has 50 tackles, including five for losses. South Alabama is 1-5, 0-2.

Bethune-Cookman vs. Norfolk St., 4

The visiting Spartans (2-5, 0-4 MEAC) have lost five consecutive games, despite having one of the top defenses in Division I-AA. B-CU (4-2, 3-0) is a half-game behind N.C. Central for the league lead.

Florida A&M vs. S.C. State, 6, (10:30, taped, ESPNU)

The host Rattlers (3-4, 3-1 MEAC) ended a seven-game losing skid to the Bulldogs (2-5, 1-3) last season. A loss would be a blow to FAMU's league title hopes.

UCF at Memphis, 8, BHSN, 1350-AM

Both schools are preparing for a move to the Big East next season. The Tigers (1-5, 1-1 Conference USA) have struggled to a 6-36 record since 2009, and the visiting Knights (4-2, 2-0) won in a 41-0 rout last year.
