Florida's John Brantley era officially begins today, with the long-awaited son of a former Florida quarterback set to make his starting debut. Even against an undermanned opponent, few quarterbacks this weekend have as much to prove as Brantley, right. The redshirt junior waited patiently in the wings behind Tim Tebow, and now everyone wants to see if the wait was worth it. The RedHawks would like to prove they aren't just a team in search of a paycheck but one capable of playing with the Gators.

WATCH OUT FOR …

New faces everywhere for UF. Regardless of how the game plays out, coaches want to see what the multitude of new players — and older players without much previous playing time — can do in a game. Don't expect the Gators to throw out every new offensive scheme they've devised, but do expect Brantley to be allowed to play his game. That should include significant action for the running backs and a chance for the receivers to show improvement early. And don't discount the heat as a major factor on Florida's side. Temperatures could reach 110 degrees on the field at Florida Field.
