Could this game go to overtime? USF (4-4, 0-4 Big East) lost in the extra session at Rutgers last week. And this season, Syracuse (5-3, 1-3) has played three overtime games at home, beating Wake Forest and Toledo and losing to Rutgers. Syracuse won in Tampa last season to end a five-game losing streak, but the Bulls are 3-0 in the Carrier Dome, having won by an average score of 34-10. USF's defense can only hope to play as well as it did against Syracuse in 2009, when it picked off Greg Paulus five times in a 34-20 victory. USF outscored Syracuse 20-0 in the third quarter of that victory.
Watch out for …
Syracuse's Ryan Nassib has thrown for 1,960 yards, 18 touchdowns and six interceptions. USF's B.J. Daniels has thrown for a career-best 2,027 yards, and his 12 touchdown passes are two short of his career best. The Bulls' top rusher, Darrell Scott, has been limited by concussion-type symptoms. If he can't go, it's more carries for Demetris Murray and Marcus Shaw.
