Former Florida Gators defensive coordinator Teryl Austin to be hired by Baltimore Ravens

Two former Florida Gators defensive assistants are changing paths in their coaching careers.

Greg Mattison, the former Florida co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach from 2005-2007, has joined the growing ranks of coaches leaving the NFL for the college game. After three seasons in the NFL with the Ravens, Mattison is headed back to a collegiate job as defensive coordinator at Michigan.

Meanwhile, Teryl Austin, who left the NFL last season to take over as Florida's defensive coordinator, is going back to the NFL.

The National Football Post is reporting that Austin is expected to be hired by the Baltimore Ravens as their secondary coach.

Austin, who was not retained by new UF coach Will Muschamp, spent seven years in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals prior to coming to Florida.
