1. The battle between Miami WR Ahmmon Richards and Florida State CB Tarvarus McFadden was a draw. McFadden broke up two passes, but Richards beat him for a key 32-yard pass. Their next matchup will probably come in the NFL.

2. How can a Jimbo Fisher team be this poor at converting on scoring chances? FSU came away with only three points on its first five trips inside the Miami 40.

3. Sorry, Gators, Bulls and Knights. Miami is the best team in the state — and the Hurricanes have the nation's No. 4 recruiting class for 2018. The balance of power is starting to shift.
