Scouting report: FAMU at Delaware State

FAMU (1-0) at Delaware State (1-0), 7:30 tonight, ESPNU

The Joe Taylor coaching era got off to a good start as the Rattlers won their first opener in four years, 30-20 against Alabama State. As expected, Taylor guided Florida A&M with a hefty dose of running. Quarterback Eddie Battle was 9-of-15 for 124 yards and had a 17-yard touchdown run. Now the Rattlers begin a three-game road trip starting with the defending MEAC champion. They have not defeated the Hornets in the past three meetings. But the last time FAMU played at Delaware State, 2002, it won 15-14.
