Hot prospects

USF has a super class at defensive end led by Ryne Giddins and Julius Forte, and it looks like the priority for the final scholarships is linebacker and cornerback. Among the linebackers being courted are Largo's Mike Marry, Weston Cypress Bay's Shane Gordon and Jacksonville Parker's Sam Barrington. Two of the top targets at corner are Butler (Kan.) Community College standout Rudell Crim (visiting this weekend) and Delray Beach Atlantic's Jayron Hosley.

    1. Saturday's triumph will do little to fortify USF's strength of schedule, but its strength-of-character quotient might have increased.
