No. 25 UCF is one of only three teams in the country ranked in the top 10 nationally in scoring offense and scoring defense. The other two? Playoff contenders Alabama and Washington. Look for the Knights to dominate again at Cincinnati, which ranks outside the top 85 in both categories.
UF coach Jim McElwain says he'll keep increasing the Wildcat quarterback package with Kadarius Toney. Good idea.
With Toney at quarterback
6 rushes, 66 yards, 11 yards per rush, 1 TD
1-of-2 passing, 50 yards
Without Toney at quarterback
110 rushes, 566 yards, 5.1 yards per rush, 6 TDs
51-of-79 passing, 620 yards
Local of the week
Miami RT Tyree St. Louis (Tampa Bay Tech): The junior (who finished his prep career at Bradenton's IMG Academy) has become one of the anchors on the O-line with 11 consecutive starts. This week might be the toughest so far; FSU's Josh Sweat and Brian Burns are among the most talented defensive ends in the country. St. Louis will have to hold his own if the 'Canes are finally going to beat Jimbo Fisher.
The team with more rushing yards has won 22 of the past 30 meetings between FSU and Miami. That bodes well for the 'Canes to end their seven-game losing streak in the series. RB Mark Walton leads a UM rushing attack that's second nationally in yards per attempt. FSU ranks No. 119.
