Video: Jameis Winston: People need to respect the ACC

It's time people started taking the Atlantic Coast Conference seriously, Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jameis Winston of national champion Florida State said while speaking to reporters at the ACC Kickoff football media event this week in Greensboro, N.C.

"We are the national champions in this conference, and that's important to me because people do need to respect the ACC more,'' said Winston, whose squad last season ended the SEC's seven-year stranglehold on the national championship.

"We had 11 teams with a winning record last year, and that's good. We have competition here. We've got people getting drafted everywhere from this conference. I believe, Florida State, we helped gain that respect, and hopefully we can continue that.''
