Mitchell High's fundraiser is May 4 at Crescent Oaks

The Mitchell High School boys golf team is hosting its third annual golf tournament fundraiser May 4 at Crescent Oaks Country Club, 3300 Crescent Oaks Boulevard in Tarpon Springs.

Registration starts at 11:30 a.m. in the clubhouse. Shotgun start is at 1 p.m. Cost is $75 per player, which includes cart/greens fee, tee gifts, range balls and awards dinner. Hole sponsorships are available at $100 per hole.

The deadline to enter is Saturday. Signup forms are available in the main office at Mitchell High School in New Port Richey or from any Mustang boys golfer.

May 2: Hernando County Education Foundation is holding its Annual Golf Tournament on May 2 at Silverthorn Country Club in Brooksville, which will be sponsored by Skanska.

The event is scramble format with foursome entries, starting at $300. Foursomes can also include a hole sponsor for an additional $50 and individuals can register, to be placed with a team, at $75. Deadline to register is Friday.

May 8: The 2008 Hernando County Bar Association Annual Golf Scramble is coming to Brooksville Country Club. The event will have a 1 p.m. shotgun start; cost is $75 per golfer, $200 per foursome, or $200 ($100 if you play) hole sponsorship. There also will be longest drive and closest to the pin contests and the top three foursomes will win prizes. For more info, contact Jason Melton at (352) 666-2121 or (727) 847-2299.

May 9: The Rotary Club of Seven Springs is celebrating its 20th year by hosting the Rotary of Seven Springs Golf Classic. The foursome-scramble event will be at Seven Springs golf course in New Port Richey with registration at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

There are four levels of sponsorship: Eagle, $500, which includes a foursome and two on-course signs; Birdie, $250, which includes two players and an on-course sign; Par, $150, which includes a player and an on-course sign; and hole, $100, which is an on-course sign.

May 17-18: Brooksville Country Club is hosting is Charity Invitational through two days with a 36-hole stroke-play format that has 16 golfers per flight. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. May 17 with Round 1 starting at 8:30 and then Round 2 following on May 18 at the same time. There will be a $1,000 Cash Shootout May 17 at 4:30 p.m, and cash prizes for the top four flights. Entry fee is $175, which includes tee gift, prizes, range balls and Saturday night dinner banquet.
