It took four days but Dunedin claimed the junior baseball District 12 championship after a rain-shortened, five-inning 4-1 victory over Clearwater on Wednesday.

In a game originally scheduled for Sunday but postponed by rain, Dunedin and Clearwater battled to a 1-all tie into the bottom of the third inning Tuesday before storms halted play. When the game resumed Wednesday, Dunedin scored three times in the fourth before the game was called for good after the necessary five innings had been completed.

Ben Emery pitched a complete game for Dunedin and allowed only three hits. His double in the fourth inning scored the go-ahead run. Later in the inning, Dunedin's Will Honeycutt tripled and Blake Hart drove him in with a single.

Colin O'Connell hit an RBI double in the first inning Tuesday to score Dunedin's first run. The Dunedin squad advances to the section tournament at Cross Bayou where it will open with a doubleheader Saturday.

The rain shortened game was a travesty to the Junior Baseball Division.First the Toronto Blue Jay's would not let them play at the field because they had to vans ticketed when parked in handi zone.so a game that could have been played didn't SHAME
