2012 champion: Rockledge

Day 1: 9 a.m. today, Palma Ceia/Bayshore vs. North Carolina

Notable: A victory in this tournament would advance Palma Ceia/Bayshore to the Junior League World Series in Taylor, Mich. Florida representative Rockledge won it all in 2012.

Dixie AAA Minors (9-10) Baseball World Series

Where: Laurel, Miss.

When: Saturday-Aug. 8

Teams: Spring Hill American, Mississippi, Georgia, Virginia, Arkansas, Alabama, Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, North Carolina, Laurel (Miss.)

2012 champion: Midland (S.C.)

Day 1: 7:30 Saturday, Spring Hill vs. Texas

Notable: In the 15 previous years of this event, Florida has won only once, with West Seminole taking the title in 2011.

Dixie X-Play Angels (9-10) Softball World Series

Where: Alexandria, La.

When: Saturday-Aug. 8

Teams: West Pasco, South Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Louisiana, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Alexandria National (La.)

2012 champion: East Central (Miss.)

Day 1: 4:30 p.m. Saturday, West Pasco vs. Mississippi

Notable: In 12 years of the Angels World Series, Florida has won once — Spring Hill in 2010.

Dixie X-Play Ponytails (11-12) Softball World Series

Where: Alexandria, La.

When: Saturday-Aug. 8

Teams: Wesley Chapel, Georgia, Texas, South Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Louisiana, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Alexandria National (La.)

2012 champion: Spring Hill

Day 1: 5 p.m. Saturday, Wesley Chapel vs. Tennessee

Notable: Florida has won twice in this division. West Pasco won this crown in 1980, while Spring Hill won the inaugural X-Play title last year.

Notable: In 37 previous installments, Florida has won five times — Brooksville in 1999 and West Pasco from 1981-83.
