Cowboys step up

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The 49ers should look to the Cowboys for an example of how to thrive minus injured stars. With Tony Romo, Dez Bryant and two starting offensive linemen out, Dallas still won its third straight. San Francisco lost linebacker NaVorro Bowman in the third quarter with a lower left leg injury that looked serious. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said of his backups: "Guys just stepping up prepared, accountable, come to work every day, do their job."
