PITTSBURGH — Former Rays right-hander Jason Hammel made his Cubs debut by pitching two-hit ball into the seventh and Chicago got its first win to avoid its worst start in 17 years. The Cubs held on after another shaky performance by the bullpen. Losing pitcher Wandy Rodriguez struggled early in his first start in 10 months (left forearm injury) but settled down to retire 10 of his last 11 batters.
