Florida Gators, Alabama Crimson Tide compete for Boise State offensive coordinator Brent Pease

GAINESVILLE — Florida coach Will Muschamp spent several years working for and being mentored by Alabama coach Nick Saban, now the two are apparently going head-to-head for the same offensive coordinator.

Boise State offensive coordinator Brent Pease, 47, interviewed on Friday for the Gators' job left vacant by the departure of Charlie Weis. But Pease, who has been at Boise State for the past six years, is also reportedly planning to interview with Saban for the vacant position at Alabama next week. He would replace Alabama's Jim McElwain, who will coach his final game in the BCS title game on Monday, then take over as head coach at Colorado State.
