Former Tampa Catholic star Kevin Knox has been named one of the SEC's co-freshmen of the year.

Knox, a 6-foot-9 forward at Kentucky, shares the honor with Alabama guard Collin Sexton, as chosen by the conference's coaches.

Knox leads the Wildcats with 15.7 points per game. He's also averaging 5.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.9 steals per game in what will likely be his only college season; he's expected to turn pro after his year and is a consensus lottery pick on early NBA mock drafts.

Knox is also a first-team all-SEC pick, joining Florida guard Chris Chiozza.

Chiozza became the Gators' all-time leader in assists over the weekend and is averaging 11.0 points and 6.1 assists per game. He was also honored as a member of the league's all-defensive team.
