TAMPA — The NFL has meted out some justice of its own after several Bucs and Bears attempted to take matters into their own hands.
Bucs OTs Jeremy Trueblood and Donald Penn were fined $5,000 each Friday for separate incidents Sunday in Chicago.
Trueblood was fined for his involvement in an altercation with DL Adewale Ogunleye during the Bucs' 27-24 overtime win. Trueblood said it's the sixth time he has been fined in his three-year career. Penn unnecessarily struck an opponent in the head area in the first quarter, the NFL said. He drew an unnecessary roughness penalty at the time.
Bears CB Charles Tillman was fined $5,000 for his personal foul on Bucs WR Michael Clayton — a play that extended the winning drive. Clayton said Friday he has not been notified of any impending fines.
In a related matter, DE Greg White was fined $7,500 for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Falcons QB Matt Ryan on Sept. 14.
INJURY REPORT: WR Joey Galloway (foot) has been ruled out against the Packers Sunday. G Davin Joseph (foot) and FB B.J. Askew (hamstring) are listed as questionable, but neither is expected to play. While Joseph is nearing his return after being out since last month, it's feared Askew's injury could linger.
BRYANT STATUS: K Matt Bryant, whose 3-month-old son died Wednesday,is listed as questionable but indications are he will play.
