Super Bowl tickets will cost $1,000 for the first time.
The NFL said Thursday about 25 percent of the tickets for the Feb. 1 game in Tampa will be $1,000 but added 1,000 tickets will drop by $200, the first time it has cut prices. The 17,000 suite and club seats will be $1,000. About 53,000 tickets will be $800, with the remaining 1,000 at $500.
Tickets for last season's game in Glendale, Ariz., were $700 and $900, up from $600 and $700 the season before. Tickets for the first Super Bowl, played in Los Angeles in 1967, were $6, $10 and $12.
