One name you'll likely hear a lot in the Bucs-Panthers game is Carolina tight end Greg Olsen, who played four years for Lovie Smith with the Bears from 2007-10.
Olsen had perhaps his best season under Smith, catching eight touchdowns in 2009, but he has blossomed as a pass-catcher in Carolina. In four seasons in Chicago, his lone 100-yard game came in a playoff game, while he now has had five 100-yard games in four-plus seasons in Carolina.
Last week's win against the Saints was one of his best games ever — eight catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns, and he'll present a real test to the Bucs linebackers who will have to account for him in the middle of the field.
But don't go thinking Olsen has been a Bucs-killer over the years — he did pile up 83 yards and 110 yards in two wins against Tampa Bay last season, but for his career, few defenses have solved him as well as the Bucs have.
In nine career games against Tampa Bay, Olsen has just two touchdowns — that's the least of any of his career division rivals. He has three career touchdowns against the Lions and Packers from his Bears days, and four against the Vikings. He has scored four against the Saints and six against the Falcons.
Having said that, Olsen is the Panthers target the Bucs will be most concerned with stopping. They've handled tight ends well this season, giving up a touchdown to the Titans' Delanie Walker in the opener, but little else since.
