Bucs to be without Barron

ST. LOUIS — Bucs safety Mark Barron did not travel Saturday and will miss today's game with a hamstring injury sustained last week against San Francisco.

Keith Tandy, who has started three games for Dashon Goldson this season, will replace Barron against the Rams.

Also, with defensive end Da'Quan Bowers out with a knee injury, the Bucs promoted defensive lineman Matthew Masifilo from the practice squad.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pound Stanford grad was inactive for seven games in 2012 and has been on the practice squad all season. He takes the roster spot of receiver Russell Shepard, who went on injured reserve with a toe injury.

Browns: Receiver Davone Bess went on the reserve/nonfootball illness list, ending his season. He was excused from practice Thursday and Friday for what the team called only "personal reasons."

Giants: Safety Will Hill was arrested Friday on a warrant related to child support, New York's Daily News reported. The ex-Gator is expected to play today.

Vikings: Tight end John Carlson went on injured reserve with a concussion and is considering retiring. He didn't say how many concussions he has had in his career. Three have been reported by the team since 2011.

Information from Times wires was used in this report.
