Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens game capsule preview, prediction

TONIGHT

Browns (0-3) at Ravens (2-1)

When/where: 8:20; M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore

TV/radio: NFL Network; 98.7-FM, 1010-AM

Line/OU: Ravens by 12; 43½

The Ravens haven't lost at home since Dec. 5, 2010, and this doesn't figure to be the week that their streak is snapped. There's just too much to play for. With the Steelers perhaps slipping, Baltimore is in position to own the AFC North. The Ravens can only hope WR Torrey Smith has another heroic performance as he did Sunday night, when he had two touchdowns less than 24 hours after his brother was killed. A Baltimore defense that has given up 882 combined yards its past two games probably won't have that kind of performance against the struggling Browns.

Stephen F. Holder's pick: Ravens 31, Browns 17

ST. PETERSBURG — Less proved to be more for RHP Jake Odorizzi during his last start when he pitched exclusively out of the stretch. The result was seven one-hit innings in the Rays' 3-2 win Monday at Oakland.

Rays starter Jake Odorizzi says that pitching from the stretch “limited the movements prior to throwing the pitch, and that changed a lot of things” in a superb outing last week.

INDIANAPOLIS — Dale Earnhardt Jr. on Saturday defended his wife's Twitter post — and blamed himself for putting her in a position where she believed she had to speak out and upset some of his fans.

Amy Earnhardt worries about Dale Jr.’s concussions.
  5. Roger Mooney's takeaways from Saturday's Rays-Rangers game

Judging by those who were asking for them before Saturday's giveaways, those who tried to get an extra one or two once inside the Trop and those who quickly slipped theirs on before finding their seats, the DJ Kitty Onesie might be the Rays' most popular giveaway. Ever.
