Hunt for a Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach: Day 18

Hunt for a Bucs head coach: Day 18

Top of the list

1. Mike Sherman: Former Packers and Texas A&M coach

2. Mike Zimmer: Bengals defensive coordinator

3. Tom Clements: Packers quarterbacks coach

4. Marty Schottenheimer: Former Browns, Chiefs, Redskins and Chargers coach

5. Rob Chudzinski: Panthers offensive coordinator

6. Brad Childress: Former Vikings coach

On the radar

1. Jerry Gray: Titans defensive coordinator

2. Perry Fewell: Giants defensive coordinator

What's new

• The Dolphins hired Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin, whom the Bucs interviewed Thursday.

• According to, the Colts are interested in talking to Childress about their vacancy. They interviewed Gray on Friday and are expected to talk to Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael as well.

Our take

With the Bucs not having eliminated any candidates, the Dolphins did so by choosing Philbin. But even with Childress talking to the Colts, most of the Bucs' field still seems to be available.
