Running back Michael Turner returns to practice; Atlanta Falcons backfield could be at full strength for Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Backfield could be at full strength

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — RB Michael Turner, who has missed one game because of a high ankle sprain, returned to practice Wednesday and could play Sunday against the Bucs.

"Michael was limited (at practice) and took some reps," coach Mike Smith said. "Hopefully, we'll get a good read on him … (today)."

The backfield should already be bolstered by Jerious Norwood, who returned to a full practice. He has missed five straight games with hip problems.

Sticking with Elam: Smith has decided to stick with K Jason Elam for now. The 17-year veteran from Fort Walton Beach is mired in a baffling slump, and the Falcons brought in four kickers Tuesday for a tryout.
