Tampa Bay Buccaneers news and notes: Facing Sabby Piscitelli, Dez Briscoe's hands, Kyle Moore's sacks

Familiar face

If the guy in the No. 49 Chiefs jersey in Friday's preseason opener looked familiar, that's because Bucs fans have seen him before. Former Bucs second-round draft pick Sabby Piscitelli, released last season after underperforming at safety, was picked up by the Chiefs as a free agent and played extensively Friday night at Arrowhead Stadium.

Piscitelli, who protested Bucs coach Raheem Morris' decision to start free agent signee Sean Jones over him in training camp last season, later was cut when the team opted to start Corey Lynch for Cody Grimm when Grimm broke his leg and was lost for the season.

Piscitelli finished with three tackles and a pass deflection Friday.

Quotable

"I remember talking about him a while ago, saying how he might be one of our better receivers. He's done nothing but show me and prove to us that he can play this game, and we're fired up to have him."

Coach Raheem Morris, Bucs coach, about Dez Briscoe, above, who led the team with four catches for 60 yards at Kansas City, including a 21-yarder from Josh Freeman
