Tampa Bay Buccaneers promote Dennis Hickey to director of player personnel

Tampa Bay Buccaneers college scouting director Dennis Hickey has been promoted to director of player personnel, the team announced Wednesday.

The Bucs also promoted Mike Greenberg from pro personnel assistant to coordinator of football administration and Tony Kinkela from combine scout to college scout.

Bill Rees was hired as a college scout, Tony Hardie as combine scout and Rob McCartney as pro personnel assistant, the team also announced.

In addition to his current duties, Hickey will oversee the pro personnel department. Hickey, who is entering his sixth season with the Bucs, has worked closely with general manager Mark Dominik during the past three drafts to rebuild the team.

"Dennis' organizational ability and talent as a player evaluator have been vital to the Buccaneers for the past 15 seasons," Dominik said. "We are excited that he will continue to be an integral part of our plan in his expanded role, as he exemplifies this organization's focus and commitment to bringing championships to Tampa Bay."

Rees spent the previous two off-seasons with the Bucs as an outside consultant for Dominik in the NFL draft. Last year, Rees worked at Northwestern University as their coordinator of player personnel/assistant director of football operations.

Greenberg will work with Dominik on all aspects of the salary cap, contract negotiations and strategic planning while overseeing budgeting for all football operations.
