PHOENIX —- Tom Brady's eyes watered and he had the sniffles, wiping his nose on his shirt during Wednesday morning's Super Bowl media session. An emotional reaction to accusations of deflating footballs?
No, Brady simply has a cold.
"I've had it for four or five days," the Patriots quarterback said. "My kids got sick, and my wife (model Gisele Bundchen) is pretty sick right now. I brought it unfortunately to Phoenix, but I'll be fine. I'll be good. I'll be 100 percent. I'm not worried about it at all."
Brady said he's taking a home remedy, which also may discourage vampires.
"It's been lingering, so I'm just trying to get some rest. A lot of garlic, old remedies, everything I can," Brady said.
The Patriots held their first practice since arriving at Super Bowl XLIX on Wednesday. Brady said most of the game plan has been installed but volunteered that he has watched more film on the Seahawks than usual.
"I've watched more film than I think I've ever watched in my life," he said. "I feel like I know these guys pretty well. I know how they play. I have a lot of respect for the way they play. They have good players and a great scheme, and they have very good coaching.
"You can see everything is very well-coordinated with this team, and they all have responsibilities, and they do a great job and are very disciplined in doing it.
"We're pretty disciplined, too, so it's going to be a test of wills to see who will break down first. I certainly hope it's them, not us. But that's what makes for a defense."
LYNCH CHANGES RESPONSE, LITTLE ELSE: Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch spoke to the media but still had nothing to say.
Appearing at the interview session to avoid a reported $500,000 league fine, Lynch answered every question by saying, "You know why I'm here." He set a timer and repeated the phrase 14 times before leaving after five minutes.
At Tuesday's media day, Lynch answered every question with: "I'm just here so I won't get fined."
But Lynch could face a fine for wearing non-NFL-sanctioned apparel to the media sessions. At both he wore a hat and sunglasses from his Beast Mode clothing line.
No-drone zone: The Federal Aviation Administration is issuing a reminder that no drones are allowed at Sunday's game. Unauthorized aircraft, including drones, are barred from flying over or near NFL regular- and post-season games. The agency uploaded a YouTube video Wednesday with the following voice-over: "Going to the big game? Have fun, cheer on your team and keep it a no-drone zone. Don't spoil the game. Leave your drone at home."
