What they're saying about Brooks

Tony Dungy, via Twitter:

So proud of Derrick Brooks. NFL Hall of Fame. Congratulations.

Pat Yasinskas, espn.com:

When I voted … for Warren Sapp as a candidate for the Professional Football Hall of Fame, I did so unenthusiastically. Don't get me wrong, I thought Sapp was a Hall of Fame football player. I just didn't think of him as a Hall of Fame person. Brooks is a Hall of Fame person. Through his lengthy career and since then, Brooks always has carried himself with class and dignity. I'm genuinely happy for Brooks.

Josh Katzowitz, cbssports.com:

Brooks is one of the best outside linebackers of all time, and it would have been a shock if he wasn't elected on his first ballot.

Gregg Rosenthal, nfl.com:

He was the rock of the great Buccaneers' defense of the 2000s with his leadership and intelligence helping to define the weakside linebacker position in the Tampa 2 defense.
