SEFFNER — Armwood rebounded from its first loss of the season last week to Plant, scoring 41 in the first half to easily defeat visiting King on Friday.
After a 34-yard Sherman Jessie touchdown run on Armwood's first possession made it 6-0, King intercepted a pass deep in Hawks territory to set up a 30-yard Aabid Allibhai field goal. The score appeared to give the underdog Lions (2-2) some momentum.
A.J. King took it away in a hurry.
King took the ensuing kickoff and raced 96 yards for a touchdown, sparking a run of 42 consecutive points by the Hawks (4-1).
Six Hawks scored, including a pair of TD runs (1 and 3 yards) from fullback Rayshied Melvin. Armwood also got TD runs from tailback Matt Jones (13 yards) and quarterback Josh Grady.
