RIVERVIEW — In a matchup that quickly devolved into a mire of penalties, Riverview (3-6, 1-3) outslugged Bloomingdale (0-9, 0-4).

The Sharks and Bulls combined for 36 penalties covering more than 300 yards. And three Riverview players were ejected.

The teams entered with a combined record of 2-14, and neither had won in district.

"It's homecoming; you always want to win homecoming," Sharks coach Bruce Gifford said.

For the Sharks, Ronnie Johnson scored on a 17-yard run, and Jerid Heffers threw a 48-yard touchdown to Joshua Thompson.

The Bulls started freshman Cody Krouse, who went 13-of-19 for 96 yards and one interception.

"I've been telling the team all week that this game is for respect" Bulls coach John Booth said.

But the story was the undisciplined play. The three players ejected: Johnson, David Ray and Thomas Huegal, all seniors.
