ST. PETERSBURG — Northeast overcame three early turnovers Friday night and erupted for 27 second-half points en route to a win over Dixie Hollins.

Senior running back Tavares Dunlap fumbled twice in the first half as the Vikings held a slim 9-7 lead at halftime. But he redeemed himself in the fourth quarter, scoring on 36- and 66-yard runs to put the Vikings ahead 27-9. He finished with 113 yards and two touchdowns on 12 rushes, and was one of three Viking running backs to score.

Dixie jumped to a quick 6-0 lead, when Brandon Knapp took the ball 40 yards for a score on the Rebels' first play from scrimmage. But the Rebels didn't muster much else for the next three quarters, gaining just 158 total yards on the night. Quarterback Dana Harrington found Eric Colon in the end zone for a touchdown with 28 seconds left for the Rebels.
