ST. PETERSBURG — Canterbury (5-4) was led by quarterback Dominique Thornton and running backs Brent O'Neal and James Goodwin, who combined for 232 of the Crusaders' 263 rushing yards and three of their four rushing touchdowns.
Thornton also passed for two touchdowns, a 55-yarder to DaSean Thomas and a 14-yarder to Ryan Laurent.
The Crusaders, playing on homecoming night, also played well on defense, sacking Carrollwood Day quarterback Billy Embody four times and pressuring him the entire night. They limited the Patriots to fewer than 150 yards of total offense.
The Patriots (3-7) were led by running back Darius Bing, who rushed 12 times for 69 yards, and wide receiver Dillon Floyd, who caught two passes for 23 yards.
