SEMINOLE — In a game that featured teams that struggled last season, Clearwater showed that it is a much improved squad by beating Seminole.

"We did a much better job this week all around," Tornadoes coach Tom Bostic said. "We are 1-0 now, got to build on that."

The Tornadoes were led by double threat running backs Jeremiah George and Mario Riley, who combined for 145 of the 219 total rushing yards. They also had four of the five Tornadoes touchdowns. They received help from quarterback Ryan Hagen, who was 4-of-6 for 68 yards and one touchdown to Bennie Niles.

The Tornadoes' defense shut out the Warhawks until the final 30 seconds.

The Warhawks' Trevor Sand rushed six times for 46 yards and one touchdown. He was 4-of-11 passing for 74 yards.
