RIVERVIEW — An unimaginable loss for Chaz Burrows inspired a huge performance from the East Bay senior, as he had a career-high 258 rushing yards. Burrows, who lost best friend Rex Ballenger in a car accident in May, scored three touchdowns for the Indians.
"I did all of this for him," Burrows said. "I know he's rooting for me more than anything and that he loves me."
The rout was keyed by the standout running back's big game, and his coach was impressed.
"I can't say enough about Chaz," coach Brian Thornton said. "He's a great football player, a great leader and a great person. We're going to lean on him a lot this year."
East Bay got two touchdowns from Andre Simpson, who scored on a 56-yard run in the second quarter to put a huge hole between the Indians and Sharks.
