Football; Admiral Farragut 21, Superior Collegiate 12

ST. PETERSBURG — Inclement weather determined the outcome Friday as Admiral Farragut (1-1) faced off against Superior Collegiate (1-1). In the first half, Superior Collegiate quarterback Jalen Shazel connected with Keyvone Lee (66 yards) and Chris Scruggs Jr. (64 yards). But Blue Jacket quarterback Kash Cordova hooked up with Khalan Tolson (181 yards), who put all three Farragut touchdowns on the board in the first and third quarters. The game was called in the third.

Play of the game: After an interception by Legion's Mikal Sanders, Shazel delivered a 30-yard pass completion to Scruggs Jr. right at the buzzer. Legion took a 12-7 lead into halftime.

Stat of the game: Both teams received multiple penalties. The Blue Jackets tallied 10 and the Legion 12.

Final word: "Our guys stepped up a lot tonight. We had to come out and establish who we were. We definitely have to cut down on the penalties and just focus on tackling. They (Superior Collegiate Academy) are a young and well-coached team and made some great plays tonight." — Admiral Farragut coach Rick Kravitz
